Tagging improvements:

• ✅ Add a tag suggestion dropdown when the user starts typing a tag, showing recently used tags and popular tags based on the user’s logging history.

Trends and insights:

• Work in Progress / Improve the trends section to show more types of trends such as mood influence by tags, time of day, day of the week.

Achievements and Streaks:

• Add a streaks section that shows the number of days in a row a user has logged a mood. Use playful animations
• Add a toast notification when a user reaches a new streak milestone (e.g. 7 days, 30 days, etc.) to encourage continued use and celebrate their progress.
• Add an achievements section that rewards users with badges or trophies for reaching certain milestones (e.g. logging a mood for 7 consecutive days, using a certain number of tags, etc.) to gamify the experience and motivate users to keep using the app.

Tagging Revamp

After reviewing the daylio reddit page it seems like people love having icons on tags and more tag customization, like meta categories. For example, you could have a “work” meta category with tags like “meeting”, “coding”, “email”, etc. and a “leisure” meta category with tags like “gaming”, “reading”, “tv”, etc. This would allow users to quickly identify and categorize their tags, and make the tagging system more visually appealing and user-friendly.

• Add icons to tags for better visual identification. Let users customize the icons for their tags based on a preset library.
• Let users set the color of their tags for better visual distinction and personalization.

Distant Future:

Android app:

The app is designed so that it can be easily built for Android, however because it is considered a health app, Google Play requires an LLC and a DUNS number, which is a bit of a barrier for me as an indie developer. I plan explore this option in the future, but for now I am focusing on the iOS app (I would need revenue to justify the cost of the LLC and DUNS number which I very much don’t have. Buy me a coffee? ).

Known Bugs and Issues:

• Long hang while logging in if you already have moods saved locally, because the app is trying to sync all of them to the cloud. Need to add a loading screen and some better error handling for this case.
• Gear icon in the top right does not change with light/dark mode (accessibility issue)
• Unclear login flow sometimes (seeing issues with my test account) - This should be solved when the delete account flow is implemented, because the firebase user and their collections will be deleted. Look at the ‘Delete User Data’ extension in firebase to solve for this.
